We decided to try something new this year and take our own family portraits! We initially tried to do this last week, but we had that crazy September heat wave, and 5 minutes in we were already sweating buckets, so we decided to reschedule for a week later. I’m glad we didn’t push through the heat, because we were so much more relaxed the second time around! I set up the tripod in the field behind our house and got out my new off camera shutter release. We kept it short and sweet with only two group poses so no one would get bored. After getting a few successful family photos, I sent Luke back to his shop and took some of the kids for their annual school portraits. We wanted to include some of their interests, so we brought out the basketball, baritone, and a school book (Azaria is loving kindergarten). It was fun to be in front of the camera for a change, and I thought it went so well that I took the kids to town to pick out some goodies! Don’t ask if I regretted all that sugar before bedtime.
